This year our club will host the MANITOBA SAILING ASSOCIATION –MIST CAMP on July10 & 11, 2008 followed by the ZZYC OPEN REGATTA

What is MIST Camp?

The Manitoba Intermediate Sailing Training is a two-day training camp followed by a 2-day regatta. It focuses on fundamentals of competitive sailing skills. Brigitte Smutny, Head Coach of Manitoba Sailing Association, as well as national level coaches from across Canada will coach you.

Where and when will it be held?

MIST Camp will be held at ZZYC on Thursday and Friday July 10th -11th starting at 9:30am and ending at 5:30pm. The ZZYC OPEN REGATTA will be held on the weekend of July 12th & 13th.

Who should come to MIST?

YOU, U and YEW! Anyone, any size, any shape, Lasers, Laser Radials, Bytes, 29ers, 420s or Optimists who enjoys sailing and wants to improve their skills!

What do you need to bring to MIST?

• Dry clothes, footwear

• Suitable sailing gear, water bottle, snacks

• Sunscreen, sunglasses, sunhat

• DOT or Coast Guard approved lifejacket

• Personnel logbook and new Racing Rules (can be purchased at the MSA office)

• Your own boat if not a member of ZZYC

• To ZZYC members 420s, 5 Optimist boats and a 29er will be available on a first come first serve basis.

COST:

MIST Camp & ZZYC OPEN Regatta: $150 per sailor / late fees after July8th - $170 (GST included)

MIST Camp only: $100 per sailor / late fees after July 8th - $120 (GST included)

ZZYC Open Regatta only: $ 60 per sailor / late fees after July 8th - $70 (GST included)

WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH MIST CAMP REGISTRATION FEE?

• Training by qualified coaches

• Entrance fee for the ZZYC OPEN REGATTA

• Light breakfast & healthy lunch each day of camp & regatta.

• Pasta Fest dinner on Thursday evening at ZZYC

Teen Dance Friday from 8-11pm

• Chicken BBQ dinner on Saturday evening
