SWIMMING LESSON PROGRAM

 Take advantage of the opportunity to have your kids take lessons and earn badges in the world’s best pool!!

 

Classes offered:

Levels 1-6: 30 min lessons

Levels 7-10: 45 min lessons

Bronze Star, medallion, cross

Bronze Med. & Cross Recerts.

Standard First Aid

Other Programs Available upon Request

Location:

- Normal classes at yacht club, condos or Instructor’s dock (end of Woodchuk Bay)

- Lessons at client’s cottage available, prices listed below

Mission Statement: To provide quality education in a fun and relaxed setting in order to develop safe, confident swimmers.

Teacher Bio:

Lauren has been involved with the yacht club all of her life. At a young age she took sailing and swimming lessons through the club. Lauren has spent most of her years working Summer Fun, but is excited for the new change.

Lauren has taken all her swimming levels, including Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross and Lifesaving Instructor level. She plans to take her Water Safety Instructor level in September of this year.

Lauren is going into her third year of commerce at the University of Manitoba. She then plans to take a physical therapy course, also at University of Manitoba.

She is looking forward to the upcoming summer and can’t wait to see returning friends and families of ZZYC!

Level: Swim Kids 1 - 6

Class Time: Half hour lesson daily Monday-Friday, dates and times to be determined based on client’s request.

Description: Learn-to-swim program for 3 year olds and up, with a strong emphasis on stroke development and water safety. The program is designed to develop confident, safe and efficient swimmers.

Cost: All prices are per swimmer, prices include GST

Normal: Members $105 for two-week session (10 classes)

              Non-Members $135

Weekend Session Sat & Sun: Members $115 for 5-week session (10 classes) Non-Members $145

Private: Members $18 per person/lesson

              Non-Members $23

Private at your dock: $25/lesson

Group lesson at dock: $150 for session (10 classes)

Level: Swim Kids 7-10

Class Time: 45 min. lesson daily Monday-Friday, dates and times to be determined based on client’s request

Description: Program for experienced swimmers with a strong emphasis on fitness, endurance, stroke development and water safety. The program is designed to prepare students for future lifesaving courses and life around the water.

Cost: All prices are per swimmer, prices include GST

Normal: Members  $130 for two-week session (10 classes)

              Non-Members $165

Weekend Session Sat & Sun: Members $140 for 5-week session (10 classes) Non-Members $180

Private: Members $20/lesson

              Non-Members $25

Private at your dock: $28/lesson

Group lesson at dock: $180 for two-week session (10 classes)

Level: Bronze Star, Medallion and Cross

Class Time: 16 hour course, date & time flexible

Description: Learn important lifesaving and first aid skills in a realistic setting at the lake. Through an interactive program involving real-life simulation rescues around the dock and boat, students will be better prepared to protect themselves and others. Successful students will receive, along with this important training, internationally recognized awards that are necessary in many different professions including, but not limited to, Sailing instructors, Camp counselors, lifeguards and swimming instructors.

Cost: All prices are per swimmer, prices include GST

16 hour Course and Exam:  Members $220

                                                Non-Members $280

Books: $ 50

Level: Bronze Star, Medallion and Cross Re-Certification,

Class Time:  2-hour course and exam, dates & times flexible.

Description: To ensure all award-holders have up-to-date and relevant training, the Lifesaving society requires all Bronze awards to be re-certified every two years. The course is meant to review and examine relevant skills and knowledge, and successful students will receive an up-to-date qualification.

Cost: Members $45

          Non-Members $55

Cancellation Policy: -

  • If raining, but the lake is safe to boat, on-land water-safety will be offered indoors instead of swimming.
  • Make up lessons will be offered if weather is not safe to boat
  • No other cancellations/refunds will be accepted. Payment required upon registration.

 

Scheduling Requests:

Schedules will work on first come first served basis. I will try my best to accommodate all families, but early registration will help this process.

Times and Dates: All programs will be designed according to demand and preferences of participants. Every effort will be made to accommodate personal time preferences; however priority will be based on date of registration.

All swimming lessons are to be booked with Lauren Casey. Cheques made payable to Zig Zag Yacht Club prior to June 29th, 2009, forwarded to Lauren at :

Payment:Full payment must be received with the registration form for SwimKids 1-10 and a $50.00 deposit for all other levels. A full refund will be given if there is insufficient demand to run a program, or if the times are not suitable. In the past, late cancellations have caused programs to be run without the minimum number of students.

As a result, once a class time has been determined and accepted, no refunds will be given.

Student should bring a towel, sunscreen and lifejacket to every lesson. Please try to be 5 minutes early so classes can stay on time!
