Sail West, Falcon Yacht Club, 2007

Because Sail West was held so close to home this year, ZZYC had 6 sailors competing. ZZYC sailor,Chris Ferguson, and his partner, Chris Bradley came 1st in the 29er event while Maddie Ferguson teamed up with Vanessa Stewart, another ZZYC sailor to place 3rd in the same event. ZZYC instructor, Mark Townsend, teamed up with a beginner 29er sailor from RLWYC and came 6th. He actually missed the first day of races because he was teaching. Paloma Corrin sailed her laser radial and placed 6th. Instructor, Gord Parke, teamed up with Katya Smutny and sailed his new olympic class boat - the 49er. They spent the first day of races upside down but enjoying the challenging 30 knot winds.
