Title: Sailing Instructor Level Blue

Sailing Program
Minimum
Age: 17
Purpose:
- As a Level II Sailing Instructor,
you are prepared to demonstrate sailing skills up to Bronze Sail Level V and
be fully conversant with sailing theory up to Bronze Sail Level V.
Tasks:
- Attendance at the Commodore's Reception,
August boat storage day.
- Prepare and develop daily lesson plan
and weekly outline.
- Keep organized binder to record task
completions.
- Place and return markers buoys for
each day.
- Daily/weekly completion of: Attendance
Check Form, Sailor's History Sheet and Student Evaluations.
- Gather information and details of
parent complaints/comments and report to Sailing Program Director.
- Monitor and report on condition of
boat parts/ stock level of supplies.
- Daily approval of sailor boat rigging
prior to launch.
- Daily approval of boat/equipment storage.
- Assist in docking/landing of sailboats
and powerboats to ZZYC.
Experience/Prerequisites/Training:
Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC)
CYA Bronze Sail Level V Certificate
Minimum 80 hours teaching experience as Green Level I Instructor/Coach
Level II (Blue) CYA Instructors Coaching Course
Emergency First Aid Award (St. John's Ambulance course) (current)
Bronze Medallion Swimming level (current)
Respect In Sport course
Knowledge of rules and boat policies of ZZYC
